Artist, Sculptor
Chinmoy Karmakar, trained at the Govt. College of Art and Craft, Kolkata and College of Art, New Delhi, is a renowned sculptor. He experiments with the beauty of abstractions in his wood and bronze sculptores. Chinmoy has to his credit the King series, The Jetty series, the Target series and the Village series. His kings look majestic and imposing. His work titles 'Buddha: King of Love' represents the triumph of semi abstraction. Chinmoy has taken a philosophical journey in his 'Target' series through oceanic destinations. In his Spiral Jetty, he has attempted to strike a balance between movement and rest. Spiral movement has been worked out against the central axis of the Human form. The spiral here represents energy and space. The Jetty represents rest.
